Alhaj Attar Syed Hussain was the founding father of Alhaj Attar Syed Hussain Wakf. He was the leading agarbatti manufacturer & exporter with award winning in the National & International market known as The Mysore Agarbatti Company. He possessed the profound thinking and ideologies of a philanthropist. He devouted his life to the upliftment of the poor community. He reached out to them regardless of their caste or creed, ever-enthusiastic, ever-ready to help them! He geneorously contributed the field of education, he supported the establishment of orphangages, religious and medical organization, etc. This charitable institution has been of service for more than 63 years now. He then realised that he had served the poor in all fields. But he had to do some thing for old age people.

In 1961, Alhaj Syed Hussain, established the Alhaj Attar Syed Hussain Wakf. The Trust was built and made the rental income to support the needy. It has a dignified board of trustees. The rental income which supports 311 Old Age People and about 325 Dialysis and Cancer Patients & Other Medical Patients with a Monetary support of Rs. 2,000 upto Rs. 5,000 for each person every month.
